The Cooper School Daily

Magic in May

Spirit Week!
This week, Kindergarteners were so excited to show off all their spirit for The Cooper School through self expression. Students came to school decked out in their favorite colors, merchandise for things they are fans of, wacky and tacky clothes, and even their favorite hats and socks! We love celebrating a year of hard work by getting to see Kindergarteners in some of their very favorite clothes!

3-D Fun!
Knee-deep in their study of solid shapes, Kindergarteners were so excited to construct some of their own! Students were given sheets with guided lines and directions to cut, fold, and tape together their very own cubes, cones, pyramids, and cylinders! Kindergarteners were encouraged to decorate each shape to look like something in the real world that takes the same form. We were so impressed at the tenacity and excitement of Kindergarteners as they each cut and pieced together their own creations, and then attached them to yarn to create some 3-D shape mobiles for our classroom!

Protecting Penny
After learning all about the engineering process, Kindergarteners were excited to get to work. Students used all of their creativity to create shelter structures to protect our puppy friend, Penny. Using our learned procedures, students knew to Ask, Imagine, Plan, Create, and use their observations to Improve. We loved seeing all of the hard work and collaboration in our classroom!
