Our First Full Week of First Grade

Our first full week was filled with excitement as students were introduced to special areas and dived into our “Healthy Bodies” study of nutrition!

My Plate Lunch Sort

First Graders have been learning all about the five food groups and portion sizes using My Plate, a handy tool that guides students in making healthy food choices. After learning about My Plate students were invited to sort their lunches onto their very own “My Plate”!

Movement with Mr. T

In addition to learning about nutrition, our First Graders got lots of exercise on Tuesday with our very first Movement Class! Below, Milly K. and Cully race to win the ultimate game of Four Corners. 

Yoga with Ms. Stacy

In addition to nutritious food and exercise to support physical health,  students practiced yoga on Wednesday to promote mental relaxation & well being! Students loved learning new yoga poses and participating in meditation techniques with TCS’ yoga instructor Ms. Stacy.

We enjoyed an amazing first full week and are looking forward to a fantastic year! Look out for information about additional special areas in next week’s newsletter!
