This week we are finishing up our pendulum investigation. We have learned about the variables that affect the number of swings a pendulum makes within a certain time. We have also extended our learning by investigating Foucault’s Pendulum and Galileo’s work with using pendulums as time-keepers.
As a read aloud this week we started diving into “Home of the Brave” by Katherine Applegate. Everyone is feeling like they can relate to Kek as he discovers snow for the first time! Students are also introducing themselves back into the classroom library and picking out some interesting reads to strengthen their reading stamina.
In Writing, students are working on growing as writers. As a part of that process, we have taken some time this week to decorate our Writer’s Notebooks. They turned out amazingly! Students are also learning some additional tools they can use when developing their Personal Narratives.
