The Cooper School Daily

Party Time

Publishing Party

Our writers proudly presented their published texts to our classroom.  They practiced their presentation of public speaking and giving positive feedback to other writers. They wrote narrative stories and illustrated their very best work range to their scholars. Second graders were so happy and pleased with all their hard work. Ask your child to read their published work to you!

Yoga

Each week in Yoga, Second Graders learn the value of the breath and strength in your body. Students practice finding balance and learn the importance of controlling their body. They work to achieve emotional well-being through concentration and mindfulness. Through fun poses and relaxation, students begin to learn the fundamentals of the art of yoga. Often times the focus of the day is finding balance, both in a pose and in their lives.

Polar Biome

This week in Social Studies we have been studying the polar biome. Our scholars have learned all about the Arctic Circle. Scholars learned about permafrost and how it has changed over the years. Scholars got to experiment with soil to see an example of how permafrost melts down after absorbing water or temperature change. Ask your Second Grader about the differences between the Arctic Summer and Arctic Winter!
