Puppeting Around

How To Be A Kindergartener: A Puppet Show
Students were so excited to welcome the incoming Kindergarten class to The Cooper School this week with a puppet show. Our puppet study wrapped up with a final presentation giving tips and suggestions to new students of How To Be A Kindergartener. With only two weeks left in their Kindergarten journey, our almost first graders showed off all of their presentation skills, puppet mastery, and confidence to embrace their new peers! We were so proud of all of their big-kid growth, work, and leadership.

Tumbling To The End of the Year
We could not wait to hop on The Cooper School bus this week to head to the Gymnastics Academy of Charleston. Kindergarteners were delighted to work in groups, dance, tumble, and climb through ninja courses. Every single student was fully active for an entire hour and a half! We loved seeing children bond, bounce, and boogie while celebrating all of their hard work and friendships this school year.

Word Work
This week Kindergarteners spent time reviewing short vowel sounds in words with CVC (Consonant, Vowel, Consonant) spelling patterns. Students examined CVC words closely and noted that they all have short vowel sounds! Students spent time identifying all of the CVC words they know, sorting CVC words by sound and spelling, and playing CVC word games to prove their mastery. These word wizards even illustrated CVC books!
