Rocking Third Graders !!!!

This week our scholars spent time perfecting their handwriting. Scholars worked hard using cursive with the letters C and D. Third graders also continued working on writing their names in cursive. Our scholars are becoming experts with cursive!!!

This week in math our mathematicians focused on learning how to calculate the area of ungridded figures made of rectangles. This included rectangles with missing side lengths. Our scholars were able to divide these figures into three or more shapes and figure out the area of each rectangle.Students were amazed to learn that not all measurements need to be given and that some lengths can be determined given the rectangular structure.

This week in art scholars continued to work on their paper mache bowls for our upcoming changemaker project! These bowls will have inspired symbols that represent each student’s changemaker. Our scholars have worked so hard on these and we can’t wait to share these with you all!
