Rocking Third Graders !!!!

Third Graders have loved tuning into their sense of hearing. This unit of study focuses on sound. Our classroom has gotten loud and exciting as we explore different ways of creating sound and feeling the vibrations that make sound waves. Students used their keen sense of hearing to listen to the tone generator.  They used their bodies to show when the tone was high, medium, and low.

Bulls Island

On Monday third graders went on a field trip to Bulls Island. Scholars got to ride the ferry boat to the island and enjoy sightseeing. We went on a hike throughout the island and learned all about the history of the island. Scholars got to see animals and even got to walk on the beach and pick up seashells. Third graders were able to see alligators, foxes, squirrels, birds and even jellyfish. We had so much fun on this field trip. Ask your scholar what was their favorite part of the trip!

This week, Third Graders finished up adapting their fairytales and were so excited to share them. Students blew us away in their ability to try a new way to tell their stories. Third Graders learned all about the need for narrators in play scripts to establish to their audience what the characters can’t say! Students used this opportunity to improve their abilities of writing descriptive dialogue.
