Second Grade has Spirit!

Birds Coming to Life!

This week students added the final touches on their pastel paintings. Last week they worked hard perfecting their pastel drawings of their birds that they have been studying very closely. This week they added beautiful water colors to bring their birds to life. Adding blues, browns, and greens to show the realistic background of the bird’s environments. The water colors brought life to their drawings and birds!

Spirit Week!

This week is spirit week and second grade couldn’t be more excited. Everyday students have dressed up to match the theme! On Monday, our classroom was bright with colors for favorite color day! Students wore all different shades making our day bright and beautiful. It is so exciting to see the students’ interest and personality show through their clothes. Each day was better than the day before and we loved seeing our students get into the Cooper School spirit!

Birds of Prey

Wrapping up our bird study, second graders embarked on an exciting field trip to the Birds of Prey center. After doing an impressive job on their presentation second graders loaded onto the bus and headed out so see more birds! Students were so excited to learn so much more about birds than they already know. Some students even saw the bird they had been studying. We are so proud of all the hard work they have been doing to prepare for the presentation and love seeing the enthusiasm to learn all about birds!
