Second Grade Villagers

Cooper Village

After their hardwork and dedication, Second Graders had the opportunity to share their village. Second Graders started this project by determining their needs and wants, they then moved on to deep research for their assigned business, professions and natural disasters. Through this project, Second Graders exercised their architectural skills, budgeting, persuasive writing, and collaborative skills. We hope everyone enjoyed a look into the Second Grade Cooper Village!

Second Graders participated in a read aloud of My Lucky Day by Keiko Kasza. From that story, we focused on six words and came up with different actions to match each word. Second Graders created actions to match the words startled, hauled, tender, stiff, useless, and prefer.

Read Aloud

This week, Second Graders started a new book called Chocolate Fever by Robert Kimmel Smith. A fun, laugh out loud book about a young boy, Henry, who is obsessed with chocolate but soon discovers that too much might just be a problem. We can’t wait to find out what happens at the end!
