Valentine’s Day Concert
On Friday, Indigo Choir performed for an awed audience at our annual Valentine’s Day Concert. Audience members were wowed by the students’ amazing renditions of You’ve Got a Friend in Me, Hava Naguila, and There Was a Moose. Fourth Graders also stunned with their instrumental performance. This concert was a wonderful Valentine’s gift to families and friends as a celebration of the arts!
In Reading this week, we have started to jump into our chosen nonfiction topics. It’s fantastic to see how the students’ passions are reflected in their reading. From World War II, Medieval
Fashion, and Deep Sea Animals, to Golden Retrievers, Hip Hop, and Theatre, nonfiction texts speak to us with all of our interests. Fifth Graders are loving using their toolkit to tackle their complex texts!
In Social Studies this week, we are so excited to be preparing for our upcoming presentation! With topics decided, research conducted, and artifacts planned, students are moving forward with planning out their speeches and putting the final touches on their displays. The creativity added to a topic as old as the Age of Exploration is astounding, with students building models, making maps, creating iMovies, and even dabbling in music to bring their topics to life.
