Strumming in Fourth!

Science

Fourth Grade scholars continued studying topics in their new science unit on the “Sun, Moon and Stars!” This week we began to study the moon phases, focusing particularly on the daytime moon. As a class, we went outdoors to report what we observed.  Scholars used their knowledge of cardinal directions to describe the moon’s location.  As a class, we created a moon calendar which will track our future findings!

Handwriting

As a class, we have been studying a variety of poems.  This week Fourth Graders took the poem entitled “A Minor Bird” by Robert Frost and wrote it out in cursive.  Scholars focused on spacing, capitalization, and punctuation in the stanzas of the poem, using the Handwriting Without Tears cursive guide.
