Studious Third Graders !!

Hi Tech, High Touch

Third Graders were thrilled to have a visit this week from High Tech, High Touch. Mrs. Liberty came to do hands-on experiments to explore how water works. Students made a cloud in a jar, their very own water cycle in a bag, and even got to experiment the difference hot water makes with cold water. Third Graders even got to experience how water is a force by launching a bottle rocket with water!

Social Studies

Third Grade was so excited to begin our Community Change Makers Unit this week.  We spent our first day of the unit discussing the meaning of identity and what it means to be a “change maker”. The students created personal identity webs and looked for connections in themselves to the identities of others. We loved starting our unit affirming our own identities and getting to explore the factors that shape who we are. Students can’t wait to see who they will get to research for the rest of the Change Makers unit!

Choir

This week Third Grade scholars had their very first choir class. Scholars were thrilled to meet Mr. Cox. Students learned breathing techniques and stretches to help with singing. Scholars did vocal warm ups and learned a musical term of the day (Forte). Ask your Third Grader to tell you all about this fun new special !
