Super Star Second Graders

Permafrost in the Classroom!

During the Second Grade polar biome study students are learning about the Arctic Circle! Students got the chance to feel and touch permafrost! Frozen soil was brought into class to show the students what real life permafrost is and to inspect the different elements. Permafrost was such a great hands-on learning experience to see what they are learning in the classroom and have it come to life!

Writers Share!

Second Graders finished up writing their first non-fiction book! On Monday, they got to share with their fellow classmates! Each student took a turn reading and showing their pictures from their books! There were topics from cats to fishing to pizza! Our students had so much fun getting the opportunity to share their work with their other classmates!

Weave-o-lantern!

In centers this week students are weaving Jack-O-Lanterns to hang up in our classroom. This motor skill is a great way for students to grow as well as be able to express their creativity. Students created a weave using different colored paper. Then finished them off with faces and a stem! Our students were so excited to get the chance to make their own pumpkin!
