The Cooper School Daily

Thankful For You!

Gratitude
Every November, Cooper School students and staff begin their discussion of Gratitude.  This unit culminates with the final copy of Gratitude Books prepared with love for families and friends.  These books are a labor of love that the students put a lot of thought into before their final copy is created.  The outer covers of these books are painted by the Kindergarten class using gorgeous homemade natural dyes. Inside the books, are the six things that the students are most grateful for in their lives. We hope that you enjoy these treasures that your Kindergarteners have worked so hard to prepare for you!

Clothing Care
This week, Kindergarteners dove into their clothing unit by practicing clothing care! Students learned the best way to fold clothing items, as well as how to pair and fold socks! Students were so excited to show off their sock matching abilities. We celebrated their hard work by reading A Pair of Socks by Stuart J. Murphy. Students used this as inspiration to design their own pairs of socks!

Harvest Feast
This week, families gathered in our backyard to celebrate all of the things we are grateful for at The Cooper School. We loved getting to see students sharing a meal with friends and family members in our backyard, as Kindergarteners shared their favorite parts of our backyard, the friends they spend their time with, as well as all of their peers in other grades in our school. Thank you to all that were able to join us! Happy Thanksgiving!
