Thankful For You !!!!!

Gratitude Books

This week third graders finished up their gratitude books. Each scholar narrowed it down to six things they were grateful for. Scholars worked so hard and added thoughtful reasoning for the things they were grateful for. Third graders also drew detailed pictures to go along with their sentences. We were so excited to hand these out at the Harvest Festival and so grateful for our kindergarteners for hand painting our book covers!!!

Hallie Hill

On Wednesday scholars took a field trip to the Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary. Our students have been working hard these last few weeks to write speeches from the dog’s point of view on why they should adopt them. Third graders got to play with several dogs, baby kittens, and even a guinea pig. We had so much fun on this field trip!

Science

Scholars were ecstatic to start a new science unit this week- a study called “Environments and Survival”.  This unit opens students up to a new world involving Snails, Robots, and Biomimicry. Third graders learned all about what an engineer is and what role they play in the environment. We can’t wait to explore this unit more and conduct experiments!!

Harvest Feast

Thank you all for coming out to celebrate the Harvest Feast!  Third Grade loved participating in all of the Thanksgiving fun.  Our students shared so many things that they were thankful for. It was wonderful to hear all of their thoughtful comments about their holiday plans and spending quality time with family and friends. Please ask your child about acts of kindness and how their role in school and in the community is valued.
