The Cooper School is a small private progressive school.  The award winning school was designed to be a school for students to engage in a rigorous curriculum that responds to the developmental needs of the whole child. We’re in West Ashley for our Cool School of the week.

Located off of Highway 61 in West Ashley, The Cooper School is a small private progressive school with 71 students in  kindergarten through fifth grade.  Franci Bell is Director of Instruction and Operations.  Bell says,  “We just received an award from Best Schools, and we were designated one of the 50 best elementary schools in the country, and we were absolutely delighted to receive that award.  We are definitely a hidden treasure, and it really is a remarkable place.  Kids are happy here.  They’re engaged in the learning here and it’s a close knit community here.”
