The Truth About Trees

Our Tree Study
This week, students began digging into trees in our world. Kindergarteners were excited to share what they knew and what they wondered! Our class proudly learned all about and labeled the parts of the tree from its roots to its branches. Students have come alive in our backyard investigating and exploring our very own trees! We cannot wait to get this show on the road and explore Cypress Gardens on our field trip next week!

Shaping Up
As Kindergarteners continue their solid shapes study, students were excited to cut and piece together all of the 3D shapes that they know. Using all that they knew about flat vs. solid shapes, students cut out patterns to form pyramids, cylinders, cubes, and cones. Kindergarteners were so creative as they imagined and decorated their new shape to look like things in our world that you would typically find in that shape! We loved seeing all of the cans of beans, Egyptian pyramids, birthday hats, and dice!

Welcome Wagon
Future First Graders were so excited to welcome the incoming Kindergarteners this week. On Wednesday, rising Kindergarteners stopped by The Cooper School to experience their first music class, meet with teachers, and explore the playground. We were so proud of this class as they warmly introduced themselves, invited students to play, and showed them the ropes on our playground. It was wild to see how tall our current class has grown compared to the incoming students!
