Dragon Boat Racing

This week Third Graders took a trip to James Island County Park for a Dragon Boat ride. Scholars raced against Fourth Graders in these fun boats. We even got to play the drums on these boats. Scholars had so much fun paddling. We had beautiful weather and a lovely day on the water! Please ask your child about this wonderful adventure on the water.

Writing

Third Graders have finished their final writing unit of this year, fairy tale adaptations. During this study, each student has gotten to write two adaptations of beloved fairy tales and one unique fairy tale of their own. Now, students are beginning the process of publishing these stories in a unique way… as comic strips! This week, students have been working on transferring their writing into pictures. Next they will turn those pictures into comics!

Folly Beach

Third Graders took another fun-filled field trip this week to Folly Beach County Park. Third Graders started out by watching the rescued sea turtles crawl back into the ocean. Scholars got to explore lots of different types of fish using a group fishing net. Scholars even learned about the life cycle of the ocean. We had so much fun at Folly Beach!

Reminder: Friday June 3rd is Field Day. Please have your Third Grader wear their athletic uniform. Field Day is also a half day with 11:30 dismissal which means there will be no Afterschool!
