Third Grade News !!!

Our Third Grade scholars are digging deeper into our new reading unit this week. Students have continued reading their series chapter books and looking for character traits. Our readers looked for external and internal character traits and compared them with other students in our class. Scholars are so excited to learn more about our character studies unit!

This week our Third Graders have been working hard on their keyboarding skills. Students have been getting familiar with their keys on their Chromebooks. Scholars have been practicing typing their names and vocabulary words also. Our students have become so independent with typing. We are proud of them.

Third grade scientists dug deeper into our environments and survival unit this week in science. Scholars participated in a model of how trait variation affects how easy or hard it is for organisms in a population to meet their needs. Third graders pretended to be hummingbirds and used “beak” variations to collect nectar, we timed ourselves to see how much nectar we could collect in a minute. Please ask your scholar all about this fun experiment !
