Plantation Singers

On Monday, we were excited to have “The Plantation Singers” perform at TCS.  The Plantation Singers performed several Gullah songs such as Wade in the Water, Hambone, Whole World in His Hands and many more! Third graders learned about call & response, rhythm, oral tradition, and improvisation which are important when singing these songs. Scholars finished out this celebration by trying red rice and cornbread!

African American Musuem

On Tuesday scholars took a field trip to the African American Museum. We were so excited to learn more about this important history.
