Social Studies Field Trip

Third Graders had a great time on both of their field trips this week!!  On Tuesday, we visited the South Carolina Historical Society Museum where we learned so much about South Carolina’s history. Some of the topics were cash crops, earthquakes, the settler and much more.

On Thursday, we visited The Dock Street Theater where we saw the play, “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” We LOVED the play and especially enjoyed watching a student from TCS perform in the play!

Special Visitor

On Wednesday, Third Graders were thrilled to have Patrick Moore (a TCS parent) visit and share his expertise on South Carolina’s waterways, aquatic life, and geography.  The students loved learning about eel, sturgeon, and shad migrations. We also learned where Charleston’s drinking water comes from and how it is cleaned. We are so thankful for all of the valuable information he taught us about our state.

Purposeful Movement

Third Graders had a wonderful time during Purposeful Movement this week.  They moved with great skill through an obstacle course that included leaping through a hula hoop that was held up in the air.  They also LOVED running around and under a giant parachute using weather terminology for the directions.
