Third Graders were excited to publish their first stories of the year this week. Students spent the past couple of weeks recalling some of their favorite memories and writing descriptive stories recalling details for their readers. Writers were encouraged to choose one small moment in their lives to interpret into a short story. Third Graders were very excited to share their work with their classmates!
Third Graders have spent the week digging into multiplication arrays and two-step word problems. Students were thrilled for the chance to play a new game, Array Bingo. In which, students draw a card between 1 and 20. With this number, students look at their Bingo cards and try to match a multiplication array with the product on the drawn card.
This week, our class finished reading Stone Fox aloud. Students were charmed by the characters in this book and we may have shed a few tears through the novel’s very sad ending. We are very fortunate to have such empathetic and thoughtful Third Graders.
