This Just In!

Presentation

This just in, 4th grade’s project presentation was a smashing success! Our journalists and their news networks gave us the scoop on all that has been happening at The Cooper School during this first trimester. We had anchors introducing their crew, forecasters reporting on the weather, sports reporters presenting their favorite physical activities, and event reporters with on-the-scene action for exciting events happening all across campus! Huge shout out to our amazing 4th grade crew for their hard work and creative presentations.

Science

4th grade has been learning how to identify constellations in the sky, why we see different ones during each season, and some of the legends behind their names. After hearing Ursa Major’s story about a bear who lost its tail, our astronomers were prompted to write their own creative stories about what constellations they saw in the night sky. Stories included a 10th reindeer, an upside down trash can, and a silver whale.

Math

Our mathematicians have been working extra hard in math lately. We have been adding, subtracting, and multiplying fractions with mixed numbers, while also identifying multiple strategies that can help us solve each problem. Although these problems can have a lot of steps to remember, our 4th graders are really getting in the habit of showing their work, which is helping jog their memory and keep things tidy when it comes to wrapping everything up and solving for the value.
