Through a Kindergartener’s Eyes

Writing
Kindergarteners were thrilled to the gills to launch our first Writing Workshop unit this week! These young writers are filled to the brim with great ideas and bravely dove into putting those ideas onto paper with pictures and words. Kindergarten writers know that they can share stories or knowledge in their writing. They especially enjoyed sharing their hard work and ideas with their peers! Ask your Kindergartener what they wrote about during Writing Workshop this week!

Walk In My Shoes
Students were so excited to finish their first TCS projects this week, all about them! We learned all about each other, from inside to outside qualities. Using shoes as their canvas, Kindergarteners created a work of art including their favorite things: animals, foods, activities, and holidays! We are so excited to invite the whole school to take a Walk in Their Shoes to see the world through the eyes of a Kindergartener!

Morning Meetings
Over the past couple of weeks, we have been so proud to see Kindergarteners learn the routines of our Morning Meetings. Each morning, students gather around to greet each other, share with a partner or the class, get involved with an activity to start our day and check in with our daily message. This week, we have been having so much fun using photos of Kindergarteners as playing cards! During this greeting, students choose a card and greet whoever is pictured, giving them more opportunities to learn every one of their peers’ names.
