Twelfth Week in Fourth!

Photos Below: Fourth Graders enjoyed creating Ancient Civilizations artifacts out of clay this week!

Social Studies: This week in Social Studies, Fourth Grade scholars completed the finishing touches of their Ancient Civilizations presentation.  Scholars finished their research on their topics about either Ancient Greece or Ancient Egypt.  After finishing their research, they presented their findings by recording their work in a video. They enjoyed creating ancient artifacts out of clay.  They also put together elaborate presentation boards that encompassed their research topic, their God or Goddess, and their artifacts.

Writing Workshop

This week Fourth Grade writers began final touches to their persuasive writing essay. They started by first typing a rough draft of their essays, being detailed in the way they revised. Scholars took time to review their punctuation and capitalization.   As we work to build upon our skills in grammar, students were able to identify where changes were needed and incorporated them into their final draft. The last step is to present their final draft to another student and persuade them based on their essay.

Yoga: Fourth Grade was delighted to welcome yoga into our movement schedule this week and for future Thursdays to come! Yoga will be taught by our Distance Learning Coordinator, Courtney Leonard, who is also an experienced, certified yoga instructor. As a reminder, please have your Fourth Grade student wear their movement uniform on Thursdays so that they will be comfortable during yoga (no skirts).  This will be a socially distanced, outdoor activity taking place in and around our backyard classroom.
