We are Grateful for Second Grade!

Our Classmates’ Heights!

Finishing up our measurement unit, students got the chance to measure the heights of their friends! Using a measuring tape, students measured the height of each other to add to a line plot! They were so excited to compare their heights and see who was taller and who was shorter in the class! In the end, using the data they found, they had to silently line up in height order! It was a fun challenge for them!

Creating Landforms!

Second graders have been learning about six landforms. This week they got the chance to create their own landform with nature. Students went outside to collect nature and create a landform they were given! They had so much fun digging dirt, leaves, and acorns to create a landform! In the end we added water to see if their landform was successful or not! All landforms held the water!

If you were Thanksgiving Turkey!

Second graders wrote a story about how they would hide if they were a Thanksgiving turkey! Students used their imagination to describe different techniques and skills to trick people during Thanksgiving! They also drew illustrations to go along with their fun stories! In the end they got to share with their friends!
