Web of Wonders

SEL

Our next unit of SEL has taken off with the word Curiosity. Our 4th graders already exhibit this trait in everything they do, from asking questions and making inferences during reading lessons to admiring the plants and playing imaginary games outside. Our goal with this unit is to encourage and build upon their already curious minds through planned lessons and just our day-to-day conversations. How have you noticed your 4th grader being curious at home?

Read Aloud

To coincide with our poetry unit, our new read aloud is Crossover by Kwame Alexander. The book follows a young basketball player while he navigates high school, and is written in prose. So far, 4th graders are loving the story and are enjoying speculating about what will happen next!

Field Trip

On Wednesday, 4th grade saw Charlotte’s Web at the Dock Street Theater. They were so focused and thoroughly enjoyed the play! Some of their favorite parts included our very own Morrison’s voice as one of the baby spiders! Thanks so much for having us, Dock Street!
