The Cooper School Daily

Week of April 24th

What a wonderful week in First Grade! We performed in the Spring Choir Concert, began a new unit in math, continued our Author Expert Research, and much more. Read on for an inside look at this week in First Grade.

Geometry & Time

On Tuesday, students launched into a new Illustrative Math unit focused on Geometry and Time! We began the unit by exploring the properties of both two-dimensional and three-dimensional shapes. Students learned to count both the number of sides and vertices of shapes as well as how to sort shapes based upon various attributes. We are looking forward to diving deep into this unit of exploration over the following weeks.

Choir Concert

On Wednesday, our students performed in the Spring Choir concert! First Graders worked hard over the past several months learning lyrics and choreography with our beloved choir teacher, Mr. Alton. Please click the links below to access the videos for First Grade songs.
