Week of February 13th!

Abstract Natural Disasters

Second graders have been learning about four different types of natural disasters for Cooper Village. Students were put into groups and each group will be representing one type of natural disaster at their Cooper Village presentation. This week students had the chance to use their artistic skills to show an abstract representation of a natural disaster. Second graders loved using their creativity to show how they would show this natural disaster using pastels.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

This week at the Cooper School we had a fabulous event for Valentine’s day! Students were so excited to buy books from the book fair, eat treats from the bake sale, and win cool prizes at bingo! Second graders loved getting to walk around the book fair and shop for books they want to read! Some students even won a round of Bingo and were awarded with some fun Cooper School merchandise! In second grade we exchanged Valentines with our classmates as well as read our compliment books!

Building Homes!

This week students began constructing their own homes to add to Cooper Village. Using their imagination and recycled materials students created a plan and built their homes! These homes were designed by each student! The next step is designing the inside of the home and painting the exterior. We are so excited to see our village begin to come to life!
