The Cooper School Daily

Week of February 22nd

We had a fun-filled short week of First Grade! This week, First Graders worked on their Gibbes Art Museum writing pieces, attended a class social, and had their first Art Show. Read on for an inside look at this week’s happenings in First Grade.

Review Writing

This week First Graders selected an art piece from the Gibbes Art Museum to review. Students utilized their critical thinking skills to review aspects of the art pieces they enjoyed and aspects they would improve. We are excited to share our students’ work at our Opinion Pages Presentation on March 10th!

Class Social

On Thursday students attended our annual class social! At the social students enjoyed delicious donuts, listened to a fun read aloud, and made one-of-a-kind slime! We loved spending this quality time with our students.

Art Show

On Friday morning students attended their First Grade Art Show. We loved hearing students share about their artistic process, the mediums they utilized, and their creative inspiration. Thank you to Ms. Henslee and all the parents who volunteered to help make this event a success!
