Reading

Second Graders came back to school eager to read! This week we spent some time exploring our classroom library and reviewing the steps to finding the “Just Right” book. Scholars challenged themselves with a 10 minute Silent Sustained Reading(SSR) and were surprised with how fast the time flew by!

Math

Students enjoyed working with their math partners to complete some math activities this week. They explored the measurement units of inches and centimeters while measuring each other with yarn and measuring tape. We were all surprised with how much each scholar grew over the summer! 

Play Structure

Everyone at TCS is so excited about our new play structure! Second Graders had lots of time to explore the new play structure this week. Everyone had a blast playing on the climbing wall, rope ladder, and slide. They also love the new swing set!
