The Cooper School Daily

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Kindergartners are exploring their classroom, learning all about The Cooper School and making new friends.

Getting to know each other

Kindergarteners have been participating in lots of fun and engaging activities to get to know each other. These activities include: Just Like Me, Collaborative Musical Chairs, When I Grow Up, and Double-Double-This-That. Ask your kindergartener what their favorite activity was!  IMG_1541-2

Class Pet

Leopard Gecko Enthusiasts got the chance to discover the gecko up close and personal on Friday. They learned that geckos are nocturnal, they eat crickets and mealworms, and they are found in the desert biome. Kindergarteners are thrilled to get a chance to have the job of pet helper so they can give the gecko water, help feed it, and give it lots of love and attention. Ask your kindergartener what the leopard gecko’s name is.

Morning Meeting

Kindergarteners were introduced to their first Whole School Morning Meetings this week. Miss Franci taught the kindergarteners some playground rules to keep everyone safe and happy. One of these rules is called “Can’t Say, Can’t Play” which means that everyone can play a game or with a toy. Next, Miss Anne Wil taught the kindergarteners all the silent signals that we use at The Cooper School. These meetings help the students get immersed into The Cooper School community.
