Hands down, the best progressive school in the area- where “best practices” based on research, are taught and joyful learning happens daily! Fostering creativity, community, curiosity, and confidence, The Cooper School offers authentic learning in support of the WHOLE child. One of Charleston’s best-kept secrets… A true gem!

What an amazing place! My son is in Kindergarten and is madly in love with his teachers, who write him a note every week with encouraging words. The hands-on learning in a small intimate setting is terrific. It is academically very challenging but the “teaching” is done in such a loving, fun, and interactive way, with each child having an individualized learning plan to set them on their path to success. These kids are encouraged to be entrepreneurs, critical thinkers, scientists, mathematicians, and compassionate people. I love TCS!!!

The positive school culture is expressed by everyone there, from teachers and administrators to each middle school child. The work that the children produce and present is personal to them, challenging, and impressive. One of the standout features of The Cooper School is its commitment to fostering creativity and critical thinking skills in every student. Instead of adhering strictly to traditional teaching methods, the school embraces innovative approaches that encourage students to explore, question, and experiment. This approach has not only enhanced my child’s academic abilities but has also nurtured their curiosity and passion for learning.

I am thoroughly impressed with how The Cooper School integrates technology to enrich the learning journey. Their approach underscores technology as an invaluable tool in education. Rather than mere consumption, children are encouraged to utilize technology to both produce and showcase their learning experiences. This proactive stance towards technology not only enhances learning but also empowers students to actively engage in their educational endeavors.
