Buzzing with Excitement !!!!

Clusters

On Wednesday, we had our first Cooper Clusters lunch of the year. These mixed grade groups connect students from each grade K through 8 to play fun games and make new friends! We enjoyed having conversations, eating pizza during lunch, and playing Toilet Tag and Night at the Museum together.

Drama

First Graders were excited to do drama this week! Each year we have actors from Charleston Stage come to our school to work on presentation and dramatic skills. During these classes, students use their bodies, voices, and imaginations to create different scenes. First Grade actors and actresses really enjoy learning and playing these engaging theater games. By practicing these theatrical skills, students are able to gain confidence when performing in front of an audience.

First Grade Entomologists

First graders have been working very hard to grow their scientific brains while learning and discovering what identifies an insect and what insects are all around us. We can label all the parts of an insect and define many of their distinct features.  First graders drew beautiful bugs to put on display in our classroom, which we will paint later on. We also began our mealworm investigation this week.
