Hard Working Third Graders

Young Readers

Third graders are realizing they have “reading grit!” Going from good to great as a reader takes working with resolve, working with grit! We discussed strategies for readers to use when they come across tricky words, such as looking for context clues.

Young Authors

In writing, authors are finishing up their non-fiction short stories. They have worked so hard on adding details and figurative language to capture the reader’s attention. In the next couple of weeks we will be publishing these stories to share with other grades at TCS.

Young Actors

This was our final week to work with Charleston Stage. Third graders LOVED expressing themselves using their actors voice, body, and imagination. Charleston Stage teachers shared games and art projects involving characters from our current read aloud book, called “Save Me a Seat” by Gita Varadarajan. They promised they wouldn’t give away the ending!
