Falling into Fourth Grade Fun

Writing

Our Fourth Grade authors have finally finished writing, illustrating, and binding the books they’ve been working so hard on for the past few weeks! These stories exhibit the students’ knowledge of the writing process and author’s purpose. The students were so excited to publish their Realistic Fiction stories by showcasing all of their hard work to the Kindergarten class on Friday. Students felt so welcomed and enjoyed playing with their buddies after reading to them.

Science

To wrap up their Human Body unit, 4th grade scientists created their own models of the human lungs. They used bottles to represent the chest cavity, small balloons for each lung, a big balloon as the diaphragm, and two straws to show the bronchi. This was the best way to close the unit and we had so much fun. Now on to our first Social Studies unit of the year, Economics!

SEL

This week, we started working with our next SEL unit on Curiosity. We wanted to know what they are curious about as 4th graders. They asked themselves deeper questions about what a sound reminds them of or what they picture when they smell a certain scent. We love getting to nourish their already curious minds even more every day through lessons and simple conversations!
