Hurricane Idalia Week

We hope everyone stayed safe this week during Hurricane Idalia. During this short but fun week First Grade created their Class Promise, talked more about healthy habits, and classified and counted shapes!

Math!

Math is a class favorite! We love working together to grow our math skills. This week we focused on sorting and classifying shapes based on different attributes while also counting and telling how many. Students were given colorful shapes and showed how many different categories they can form.

Healthy Habits!

First grade completed their Healthy Habits unit this Friday. We learned that food and water are not the only things our brains need to grow. We also learned the importance of sleep and exercise. Each student shared with the class their bedtime routines and we also explored the outdoors to make observations using our five senses.

Class Promise!

Our First Graders have been working hard on creating a set of rules and promises to hold each other accountable during our school year. Our creative minds took time to think about what is important to us as learners and friends. Together we wrote the official First Grade Class Promise, signed it, and hung it up in our classroom. We are excited to share our Class Promise with families on Curriculum Night.
