Sticky Situations

Reading

4th grade detectives are continuing to read with their book clubs, deciphering clues and identifying suspects along the way. Our 3 groups are reading very different mystery books including Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief, The Westing Game, and The Girl Who Could Fly. They’re taking their time with these books, keeping track of every character and every event that just might lead them to solving the mystery.

Writing

Our journalists have found out their job assignments for their first project presentation and are getting deep into the work and practice it takes to make a news broadcast come to life. There are many different roles with different types of reports, but they all require collaboration and interviewing! We want to extend a huge thank you to Mr. Robert Behre for coming in and giving our students a sneak peak into the life of an editor.

Centers

While Centers are typically focused on core subjects and SEL units, we also like to feed our students creativity while practicing their fine motor skills from time to time. To celebrate the upcoming holiday, 4th graders have been designing their own spider webs from glue and glitter. These works of art are hung up all around the classroom to shine on us all day long!
