This week in our Third Grade Classroom….

Published Authors

We finished our first writing unit, Crafting True Stories. Third grade authors have worked diligently on crafting their story with rich details and figurative language. They have revised and edited. Then revised and edited some more! We are so proud of the dedication our students have given this project and are looking forward to reading their books with first grade students next week!

New SEL Unit: Curiosity

Curiosity is a major part of The Cooper School’s Social Emotional Learning Curriculum. TCS students have the desire to learn, ask questions, read and explore through curiosity. We are constantly building connections between our studies and students’ interests.

Change Makers in Training

Last week in Reading, we introduced our Reading to Learn unit. These skills pair up perfectly with our Social Studies unit, Change Makers. Third graders are so excited to dig deep and research their change maker! We are discovering new information daily about how people impacted our world. On Thursday, we shared how each student sees themselves as a future change maker.
