Connecting Area to the Multiplication Table

In math, we continued working on finding the area of rectangles and took it a step further by introducing the connection to the multiplication table. The students are now using their knowledge of times tables to calculate the area more efficiently. They’re beginning to see how multiplication is a tool that helps solve real-world problems, and it’s exciting to witness their growing confidence. Please ask your student about their excitement for filling in a times table! They wanted to do more math at the end of the day on Thursday! Who knew skip counting could be so fun?

Writing Celebration: Sharing Our True Stories

Third graders proudly shared the books they worked so hard on with the first graders, who were such an attentive audience. It was heartwarming to see the excitement on both sides as our students became authors and mentors, reading their true stories aloud. In return, the first graders shared some of their own stories with us, and our third graders were great listeners. This cross-grade sharing was a wonderful way to celebrate all of their hard work!

Change Makers in Training

This week, we’re diving deeper into our changemakers project! The kids are really getting the hang of how to research and take organized notes. It’s exciting to watch them learn how to find important information and put it all together. They’re creating timelines to highlight the key moments in their changemaker’s life. I’m so proud of how they’re developing these skills, and continuing their hard work!
