TCS Parent Spotlight: Austin Dandridge (Grade 1 Parent)

Austin Dandridge

1. What were you looking for in a school?
My wife Carter and I were looking for a school with small class sizes that was progressive in its approach and has a comfortable environment where a child could not be intimidated. We liked the group and one-on-one style teaching that happens, and the campus itself was very welcoming.

2. Why did you choose The Cooper School?
We toured a lot of schools and thought TCS was the most nurturing environment for our son. The fact that the students take their shoes off was very compelling to me, and the school itself felt very comfortable and approachable. I wanted my son to feel at home in his learning and social environment.

3. Now that you are here, what do you like most about it?
I love my son’s relationships with the other students in the school and the teachers. Everyone knows each other and it’s just such a comforting experience knowing that my son is not only getting a great education, but also feeling comfortable when he does it. They are very proactive in teaching emotional and social skills, and I think my son has thrived from it.

4. What do you wish you could tell prospective parents about TCS?
We have been very pleased with our decision and are so excited about the fact that there is now going to be a middle-school. My wife literally cried when she found out.
