Second Grade Rocks!

It’s been a fantastic first week in Second Grade! In our first few days we’ve really focused on our classroom routines and procedures. Students are excited to greet their peers and teachers each morning as they begin the day. Our class is already so close and we can’t wait to continue to make new memories together!

This week we also worked on self-portraits, helped our friends measure their height with string, wrote a letter to our future selves, created our class promise and shared our Hopes and Dreams for the new school year. Hopes and Dreams is a way for our students to make a goal they are looking forward to achieving this school year. Second graders are ready to grow their brains and build their confidence through learning and frienships!

We are happy to announce our newest classmate….our class pet hamster!. Students were so excited to welcome her to the classroom. We worked together to come up with a unique name for her and we are eager to share that her official name is Marshmallow! Marshmallow, also nicknamed Smores, took a stroll around her new home and our students loved getting a closer look. They are all very excited to get a chance to bring her home for a weekend this year (more information to come!).

Thank you for an amazing first week of school!
