Creative First Graders

Let it Shine

First graders are so excited to have begun their study on light in science! We loved working with friends to observe the brightness of light and explore shadows. We know that a shadow is created with a light source and an object to block the light. We also are able to identify all the light sources in our classroom. We challenge you to ask your child to name all the light sources in their house!

Lowcountry Food Bank

The lower school students voted on which charity they would like to donate to for Pass It On and they chose the Lowcountry Food Bank! Students are excited to have the opportunity to support such a worthy cause. This week the Lowcountry Food Bank came to our school to talk with us about all the amazing things they do for our community. We will be holding a food drive during Pass It On and first graders can’t wait to help!

Creative Art

Thank you to all of our friends and family for joining us to celebrate our art work. First grade has been working really hard spending time on all of the details to get their art just how they want it! We finalized our dream quilts this week using lots of fun materials, including fabric. We enjoyed sharing our work with you and shining on our classmates’ art work as well! We love seeing our first graders get their creative juices flowing!
