Field Trip Fun!

Math

This week, our mathematicians wrapped up Unit 6 in Math. During this unit, students measured length and counted up to 120 length units. They practiced solving addition and subtraction story problems with unknowns in all positions. We were so impressed with our mathematicians as they excelled in this Unit. We will be launching our next math unit next week, Geometry and Time!

Pass It On Practice

Mark Your Calendars! Our Pass It On event is scheduled for next Thursday (May, 12th) at 5:00 pm. Our First Grade poets have been working hard practicing their poems. We are eagerly anticipating our performance and, to prepare our First Graders, we have practiced our poems with each other, on our outdoor classroom, and even in front of another Cooper School class. We are so excited to share all of their hard work and beautiful poems with you next week.

Field Trip Aquarium

First Grade ended the week with the most amount of fun! Friday morning we took a trip to the South Carolina Aquarium. The buses were buzzing with songs and excitement.  Once inside the aquarium, we explored the touch tanks, interactive exhibits and had the chance to learn all about shark teeth that we could find on our South Carolina beaches. Ask your First Grader a fun fact they learned today!
