First Grade: Kim Vennewald

Kim is so excited to be teaching First Grade at The Cooper School! She moved to Charleston from New York City almost 2 years ago. She earned a Master’s Degree in Special Education from Hunter College in New York City and worked as an elementary school teacher for 12 years, teaching across all subject areas for grades 2-5. After teaching for several years, Kim became an Academic Curriculum Coordinator where she was given the opportunity to supervise the curriculum for grades K-8. Kim enjoys relaxing on the beach, reading, spending time with her husband and her dog, Harley, and enjoying all of the wonderful things Charleston has to offer.
