Choir Concert

On Thursday, elementary students had their Winter Choir Concert. They have been practicing once a week for months perfecting their performances. 4th grade sang a beautiful Kwanzaa song, Jingle Bell Rock for Christmas, and Hanukkah, Oh Hanukkah. We are so proud of our students and very grateful for our amazing choir teacher, Mr. Andy!

Math

Last week we moved into the section of our math unit that focuses on place value up to 1,000,000! Our mathematicians looked at different ways to write and read large numbers. They practiced with diagrams, expanded form, and word form. Then they moved on to number lines and plotted random points between one hundred and one hundred thousand!

Read Aloud

This week, 4th grade finished reading the book Any Which Wall. This book was part of our mystery unit and focused on a group of friends who find a magic wall that will transport them anywhere in time. Students followed along on their adventures to the Wild West, Merlin’s Castle, and Blackbeard’s pirate ship. To finish out the time before break, we will be enjoying some holiday books. When we come back, we will start our American Revolution read aloud, Toliver’s Secret.
