100 Days in Second Grade!

100th Day of School!

We can’t believe it’s already the 100th day of school! These kids really are expert second graders! In ‘Morning Meeting’ we reminisced about all of our favorite days so far. We talked about the Holiday Extravaganza, making tarpols, trips to the fire station and Charlestowne Landing to name just a few. Most importantly, students were proud to share how much they have grown this year! We can’t wait for the rest of the year!

All the Shapes!

We have begun a new unit in math. Second graders are learning all about shapes. We are learning about how to identify and draw shapes. Students have learned some math games that help them reinforce their knowledge of shapes! There are so many different types of shapes we are learning about, therefore to challenge students they have to guess different shapes based on description. This helps students practice identifying shapes using numbers of sides and number of corners!

Cooper Village Update!

Construction has begun on Cooper Village! This week students planned out how their village is going to look. This includes deciding the shapes of buildings, the placement of buildings, and how to ensure our village functions smoothly. Students are getting eager to begin building each business and are excited to see all their plans come to life!
